Facilities:
The Chattahoochee Nature Center is an environmental education facility dedicated to aiding visitors in Natural History Education. It is open seven days a week from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Admission is $1.00 for adults and $.50 for young people. The bookstore and gift shop offer a wide variety of items related to natural science. Birdseed is sold at the center throughout the year.

SANDY SPRINGS HISTORIC
SITE / WILLIAMS-PAYNE HOUSE Two block West of Roswell Road and Hildebrand Drive

Located in the heart of Sandy Springs, the Sandy Springs Historic Site is the home of the natural springs for which the community was named. Also at this three acre site is the Williams-Payne House Museum, an 1870's 'plain style' farmhouse, an authentic period milkhouse, well shelter and privy. The grounds include a native Georgia garden, an historic teaching garden and a bog garden with a wooden boardwalk. The site is operated by the Sandy Springs Historic Community Foundation, a nonprofit organization. In addition to tours of the Williams-Payne House, programs include heritage lectures, storytelling festivals and the Sandy Springs Fall Festival. The brick terrace, garden room and large gazebo make a lovely setting for weddings and parties. Daily hours at the Williams-Payne House are from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday - Froday. The last tour begins at 3:30 p.m. Admission is $2.00 for adults, $1.00 for seniors, and$1.00 for children under 12.
